The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
तेन क्ष्मापतिनेत्युक्ते कुम्भ आहासने विशन् ।
गिरा विषण्णया शीर्णवंशस्वनसमानया ॥ ३९ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
tena kṣmāpatinetyukte kumbha āhāsane viśan |
girā viṣaṇṇayā śīrṇavaṃśasvanasamānayā || 39 ||

Vasishtha said:—Being thus accosted by the prince, Kumbha sat on his seat, and then said in reply, with a voice as thin and soft as the sound of a bamboo flute.
