The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

सोमं प्रकटयत्यग्निश्चिद्देहस्य चिरं प्रभाम् ।
स्वसंविन्मयमिन्दुश्चिद्देहस्थं रूपमर्कजम् ॥ १०६ ॥

somaṃ prakaṭayatyagniściddehasya ciraṃ prabhām |
svasaṃvinmayaminduściddehasthaṃ rūpamarkajam || 106 ||

Fire in the form of sun light enlightens the moon, in the same manner as the light of the intellect illumes the inner body (lingadeha);our consciousness is as the moonlight of the inner soul, and is the product of the sun beams of our intellect.
