The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.74.11

गङ्गासोपानपद्धत्या येन पातालवासिनः ।
योजिता ब्रह्मणो लोके बान्धवा लोकबन्धुना ॥ ११ ॥

gaṅgāsopānapaddhatyā yena pātālavāsinaḥ |
yojitā brahmaṇo loke bāndhavā lokabandhunā || 11 ||

This benefactor of mankind, redeemed his ancestral kinsmen from the infernal region (in which they were accursed by the indignant sage; and led them to the heaven of Brahma, by the passage of the sacred Ganga.
