The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 6.25.33

हृदाकाशोन्मुखोऽपानो निम्ने वहति वारिवत् ।
अपानश्चन्द्रमा देहमाप्याययति बाह्यतः ॥ ३३ ॥

hṛdākāśonmukho'pāno nimne vahati vārivat |
apānaścandramā dehamāpyāyayati bāhyataḥ || 33 ||

The apana or inhaled breath is like the cooling moon light, and refreshes the body from without; while prana respiration resembling the sunshine or a flame of fire, warms the inside of the body.
