The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मन्दोत्साहाः समुद्भूताः सभ्यसंघातवर्जिताः ।
न तदाज्ञाः पदं प्रापुर्भस्मनीवाम्बुविप्रुषः ॥ २६ ॥

mandotsāhāḥ samudbhūtāḥ sabhyasaṃghātavarjitāḥ |
na tadājñāḥ padaṃ prāpurbhasmanīvāmbuvipruṣaḥ || 26 ||

The courtiers left him with the heavings of their hearts, nor were his orders obeyed any more, than those of quenching the cool ashes with water.
