The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.14.11

प्राणानां स्पन्दनी शक्तिर्ज्ञानशक्तिः परात्मनः ।
इन्द्रियाणां निजा शक्तिरेकः कोऽत्र निबध्यते ॥ ११ ॥

prāṇānāṃ spandanī śaktirjñānaśaktiḥ parātmanaḥ |
indriyāṇāṃ nijā śaktirekaḥ ko'tra nibadhyate || 11 ||

The vital breath gives the force for bodily actions, and the soul produces the power of knowledge;the organs act by their own force, and the supreme spirit is the main source of all.
