The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्वतोऽस्पन्दोऽपि तु स्पन्दो यथाऽगाधजलोदरे ।
तथैवेयमसत्सच्च चिदेव परिदृश्यते ॥ ३ ॥

svato'spando'pi tu spando yathā'gādhajalodare |
tathaiveyamasatsacca cideva paridṛśyate || 3 ||

But as the motion of the waters on the surface, does not affect the waters in the depth of the sea; so the fluctuations of the changing scenes of nature, make no alteration in the ever tranquil spirit of Brahma.
