The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तेषां समुचितैर्दानसन्मानैर्दुःखसंक्षयम् ।
कृत्वा करुणयाविष्टो इष्टलोकपरावरः ॥ ६ ॥

teṣāṃ samucitairdānasanmānairduḥkhasaṃkṣayam |
kṛtvā karuṇayāviṣṭo iṣṭalokaparāvaraḥ || 6 ||

He sympathised with their woes, and saw them in the same state, as he had seen them before in his dream. And then he gave suitable gifts and presents to relieve their wants and woes.
