The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.112.26

स्वेनैव तत्प्रयत्नेन पुंसः संवेद्यते क्षणात् ।
भावस्याभावनं भूत्यै तत्तस्मान्नित्यमाहरेत् ॥ २६ ॥

svenaiva tatprayatnena puṃsaḥ saṃvedyate kṣaṇāt |
bhāvasyābhāvanaṃ bhūtyai tattasmānnityamāharet || 26 ||

It is by their own attention that men soon come to the knowledge of the knowables; but it is the unknowing or unconsciousness of these that is our nirvana, while our consciousness is the cause of our woe.
