नूनं दैवमनादृत्य मूढसंकल्पकल्पितम् ।
पुरुषार्थेन संवित्त्या नय चित्तमचित्तताम् ॥ १७ ॥

nūnaṃ daivamanādṛtya mūḍhasaṃkalpakalpitam |
puruṣārthena saṃvittyā naya cittamacittatām || 17 ||

Many persons turn their minds to unmindfulness, by too much trust in their exertions and imaginary expectations; and disregarding the power of destiny, which overrules all human efforts.
