The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.77.17

निर्जगाम सुधीरात्मा नगरात्सुप्तनागरात् ।
अटवीं विक्रमो नाम विषमां वीरचर्यया ॥ १७ ॥

nirjagāma sudhīrātmā nagarātsuptanāgarāt |
aṭavīṃ vikramo nāma viṣamāṃ vīracaryayā || 17 ||

The prince was named Vikrama, and was as brave and valorous as his name and conduct implied him to be. He came out undaunted from within the city, after the citizens had fallen fast-asleep.
