The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.67.13

हेम्नीव कटकादित्वं काष्ठलोष्टसमस्थितौ ।
देहे तिष्ठति नानात्वं जडे भावविकारजम् ॥ १३ ॥

hemnīva kaṭakāditvaṃ kāṣṭhaloṣṭasamasthitau |
dehe tiṣṭhati nānātvaṃ jaḍe bhāvavikārajam || 13 ||

As the same gold is changed to the forms of bracelets and other things, and as the same gross matter appears in the different forms of wood and stone; so the uniform soul of God appears as multiform according to his various modes and attributes.
