The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.48.40

रोदोरन्ध्रे प्रविसृत एकार्णव इवाभवत् ।
मत्स्या इवाभवन्सेनास्ताराश्च मणयोऽभवन् ॥ ४० ॥

rodorandhre pravisṛta ekārṇava ivābhavat |
matsyā ivābhavansenāstārāśca maṇayo'bhavan || 40 ||

It hid the face of the earth and sky, like the diluvian waters reaching to the welkin's face; making the army appear as a shoal of fishes, and the stars as gems shining in the deep.
