The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

महामणिरिवोदार आलोक इव भास्वरः ।
वस्तुतस्तु न भूपीठमिदं न च भवानयम् ॥ ५६ ॥

mahāmaṇirivodāra āloka iva bhāsvaraḥ |
vastutastu na bhūpīṭhamidaṃ na ca bhavānayam || 56 ||

The soul shines as a brilliant gem by its own light, and nothing that appears beside it, as this earth or yourself or any thing else, is a reality.
