The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.23.4

समाथिस्थानकं गत्वा तस्थतुर्निश्चलाङ्गिके ।
रत्नस्तम्भादिवोत्कीर्णे चित्रे भित्ताविवार्पिते ॥ ४ ॥

samāthisthānakaṃ gatvā tasthaturniścalāṅgike |
ratnastambhādivotkīrṇe citre bhittāvivārpite || 4 ||

They then went to the cemetery and stood motionless on the spot, as if they were sculptures engraven on marble columns, or as pictures drawn upon the wall.
