223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.14.3

आकाशरूपमजहदेवं वेत्तीव हृद्यताम् ।
स्वप्नसंकल्पशैलादाविव चिद्वृत्तिरान्तरी ॥ ३ ॥

ākāśarūpamajahadevaṃ vettīva hṛdyatām |
svapnasaṃkalpaśailādāviva cidvṛttirāntarī || 3 ||

It then begins to reflect in itself, as in a dream or in imagination, without changing its vacuous form, which is likened to a rock with the inward faculty of thought.
