The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.18.30

न द्वेष्टि संप्रवृत्तानि न निवृत्तानि काङ्क्षति ।
कार्याण्येष प्रबुद्धोऽपि निष्प्रबुद्ध इव द्रुमः ॥ ३० ॥

na dveṣṭi saṃpravṛttāni na nivṛttāni kāṅkṣati |
kāryāṇyeṣa prabuddho'pi niṣprabuddha iva drumaḥ || 30 ||

They neither grieve at unwished-for occurrences nor pine for their wished-for chances; and knowing well all accidents to be the consequences of their actions, they remain as unconscious as trees.
