The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.1.151; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

द्वितीयो, यथा प्रथमे (१.९.३७) —
स्व-निगमम् अपहाय मत्-प्रतिज्ञाम्
ऋतम् अधिकर्तुम् अवप्लुतो रथस्थः ।
धृत-रथ-चरणो’भ्ययाच् चलद्गुर्
हरिर् इव हन्तुम् इभं गतोत्तरीयः ॥२.१.१५०॥

dvitīyo, yathā prathame (1.9.37) —
sva-nigamam apahāya mat-pratijñām
ṛtam adhikartum avapluto rathasthaḥ |
dhṛta-ratha-caraṇo’bhyayāc caladgur
harir iva hantum ibhaṃ gatottarīyaḥ
||2.1.150||

English translation

अन् एxअम्प्ले ओf बेइन्ग् थे fरिएन्द् ओf हिस् सेर्वन्त्, fरोम् थे Fइर्स्त् चन्तो ओf श्रीमद्-भागवतम् [१.९.३७]:
“Fउल्fइल्लिन्ग् म्य् देसिरे अन्द् सच्रिfइचिन्ग् हिस् ओwन् प्रोमिसे, हे गोत् दोwन् fरोम् थे छरिओत्, तोओक् उप् इत्स् wहेएल्, अन्द् रन् तोwअर्द्स् मे हुर्रिएद्ल्य्, जुस्त् अस् अ लिओन् गोएस् तो किल्ल् अन् एलेफन्त्. हे एवेन् द्रोप्पेद् हिस् ओउतेर् गर्मेन्त् ओन् थे wअय्.”

(४०) प्रेम-वश्यः —
प्रियत्व-मात्र-वश्यो यः प्रेम-वश्यो भवेद् असौ ॥२.१.१५१॥

An example of being the friend of His servant, from the First Canto of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam [1.9.37]:
“Fulfilling my desire and sacrificing His own promise, He got down from the chariot, took up its wheel, and ran towards me hurriedly, just as a lion goes to kill an elephant. He even dropped His outer garment on the way.”

(40) prema-vaśyaḥ —
priyatva-mātra-vaśyo yaḥ prema-vaśyo bhaved asau ||2.1.151||

English translation

(40) prema-vaśyaḥ: controlled by love —
“He who is controlled only by affection is called controlled by love.”
