ताः किं निशाः स्मरति यासु तदा प्रियाभिर् वृन्दावने कुमुद-कुन्द-शशाङ्क-रम्ये |
रेमे क्वणच्-चरण-नूपुर-रास-गोष्ठ्याम् अस्माभिर् ईडित-मनोज्ञ-कथः कदाचित् ||
tāḥ kiṃ niśāḥ smarati yāsu tadā priyābhir vṛndāvane kumuda-kunda-śaśāṅka-ramye |
reme kvaṇac-caraṇa-nūpura-rāsa-goṣṭhyām asmābhir īḍita-manojña-kathaḥ kadācit ||
[The gopīs address Uddhava:] Does He recall those nights when He took pleasure with us, His beloveds, in Vṛndāvana, which was lovely at that time because of the lotuses, the jasmines and the moon, during the meeting of the Rāsa dance, where the anklebells were jingling? At some point in time we praised delightful topics about Him. (Bhāgavatam 10.47.43)
Commentary:
In this verse the uddīpanas—the place, the time, the objects, and the actions, with a hint at His qualities—are predominant in the expression of vipralambha. The vyabhicārīs are saṃśaya (doubt), included in the vyabhicāri-bhāva called vitarka (conjecture) (Bhakti-rasāmṛta-sindhu 2.4.195), and smṛti (remembrance) in the last sentence.
