Consisting of 18 books, the Mahabharata details the history and legends concerning ancient India (Bharata), including a major battle campaign involving the Kauravas and the Pandavas, also known as the Kurukshetra War. स्तम्भान्कनकचित्रांश्च तोरणानि बृहन्ति च ।
यज्ञायतनदेशेषु दत्त्वा शुद्धं च काञ्चनम् ॥ १४ ॥

stambhānkanakacitrāṃśca toraṇāni bṛhanti ca |
yajñāyatanadeśeṣu dattvā śuddhaṃ ca kāñcanam || 14 ||
