दिव्यम् कौ नामधेयम् च्रुतम् अथ यामुने दण्डयत्य् अद्रि-तुल्यम् पाप-व्युहम् त्व् अखण्डम् वसतु मम गिराम् मण्डले तु क्सनम् तत् दण्ड्याम्च् चाकार्य-दण्ड्यान् सक्र्द् अपि वचसा खण्डितम् यद् ग्र्हीतम् भ्रातुर् मार्तण्ड-सुनोर् अतति पुरि द्र्ढस् ते प्रचण्डेति दण्डः

divyam kau nāmadheyam crutam atha yāmune daṇḍayaty adri-tulyam pāpa-vyuham tv akhaṇḍam vasatu mama girām maṇḍale tu ksanam tat daṇḍyāmc cākārya-daṇḍyān sakrd api vacasā khaṇḍitam yad grhītam bhrātur mārtaṇḍa-sunor atati puri drḍhas te pracaṇḍeti daṇḍaḥ

English translation of verse 4.17.7:

O Yamunā, when it is heard on this earth, your holy name desrtoys a great mountain of sin. When your name is spoken it again destroys a great host of sins.

May your holy name stay in the circle of my words. In the city of your brother, Yamarāja, who is the son of the sun-god, you are known by the name Pracaṇḍā.
