Avadhijñānāvaraṇa (अवधिज्ञानावरण) refers to “clairvoyant-knowledge-obscuring” and is another name for Avadhi, or “clairvoyance” which represents one of the five divisions of Jñānāvaraṇa, or “knowledge obscuring (karmas)”, which represents one of the eight types of Prakṛti-bandha (species bondage): one of the four kinds of bondage (bandha) according to the 2nd-century Tattvārthasūtra chapter 8.
