Aśodhita (अशोधित) refers to “raw” or “crude” metals (i.e. aśodhita-nāga, ‘raw lead’), which is used in metallurgical processes.—There are several tests described in Ayurvedic texts to check the quality of prepared bhasma viz. rekhāpūraṇa (small particle size), Niścandra (lack of metallic shine) and niruttha (absence of alloy formation with silver) etc. (See Rasaratna-samuccaya)
