The Buddha Carita (Saddharma-pundarika) by Asvaghosa a famous Sanskrit text revolving around the live and exploits of the Buddha. The Buddha Carita (Buddhacarita) is written in the style of a Kavya (or Mahakavya, epic poetry) and extant original Sanskrit text consists of roughly 1,000 metrical verses.

Verse 1.11

भुजेन यस्याभिहताः पतन्तो द्विषद्द्विपेन्द्राः समराङ्गणेषु ।
उद्वान्तमुक्ताप्रकरैः शिरोभिर्भक्त्येव पुष्पाञ्जलिभिः प्रणेमुः ॥ ११ ॥

bhujena yasyābhihatāḥ patanto dviṣaddvipendrāḥ samarāṅgaṇeṣu |
udvāntamuktāprakaraiḥ śirobhirbhaktyeva puṣpāñjalibhiḥ praṇemuḥ || 11 ||

Falling smitten by his arm in the arena of battle, the lordly elephants of his enemies bowed prostrate with their heads pouring forth quantities of pearls as if they were offering handfuls of flowers in homage.
