This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 72.7

तस्मिं च वनषण्डस्मिं संहरित्वा फलाफलं ।
सन्तर्पयित्वा ऋषयो पश्चाद् भुंजति आत्मना ॥ ७ ॥

tasmiṃ ca vanaṣaṇḍasmiṃ saṃharitvā phalāphalaṃ |
santarpayitvā ṛṣayo paścād bhuṃjati ātmanā || 7 ||

There in the forest grove he would gather fruits of various kinds. But first he would satisfy the needs of other seers, and then partake himself. (7)
