This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 64.525

प्रमादं सो न चरति पुण्यवन्तो सुसंप्रजानो सद सो मनुष्यो ।
सुनिगृहीतो भवति मुक्तचित्तो न तस्य . . . . धर्मस्य अन्तो ॥ ५२५ ॥

pramādaṃ so na carati puṇyavanto susaṃprajāno sada so manuṣyo |
sunigṛhīto bhavati muktacitto na tasya . . . . dharmasya anto || 525 ||

Being virtuous he does not live in indolence. As a man he is always mindful and becomes well-controlled and heart-free... (525)
