This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 59.1

दृष्टा मया वने वृक्षा अश्चकर्णा विभीतका ।
एवं च कर्णिकारा पि मुचिलिन्दा च केतका ॥ १ ॥

dṛṣṭā mayā vane vṛkṣā aścakarṇā vibhītakā |
evaṃ ca karṇikārā pi mucilindā ca ketakā || 1 ||
