2) n. — a) Verschuldung , Verpflichtung , Schuldigkeit , Schuld , Geldschuld. Unter drei Verpflichtungen sind die gegen die Ṛṣi , Götter und Manen gemeint. Die vierte ist die gegen die Menschen , die fünfte die gegen die Gäste. antya Die letzte Verpflichtung ist die gegen die Manen , d.i. die Erzeugung eines Sohnes. ṛṇaṃ dhāray Jmd (Gen.) Etwas schuldig sein ; kar eine Schuld machen , borgen von (Abl.) ; pra-yam und nī eine Schuld abtragen ; dā dass. und Jmd (Loc.) borgen ; pra-āp eine Schuld auf sich laden ; pari-īps eine Schukd einfordern ; mṛgay , yāc um ein Darlehn bitten. — b) eine negative Grösse — c) *Wasser. — d) *Burg , Feste.
