This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 53.87

रुण्डेन शोचितेन महत्तरं पीडिता परिकिलन्ता ।
बह्व्यस्य धार्मिकस्य अनुस्मरन्ती गुणशतानि ॥ ८७ ॥

ruṇḍena śocitena mahattaraṃ pīḍitā parikilantā |
bahvyasya dhārmikasya anusmarantī guṇaśatāni || 87 ||

They went on distressing and wearying themselves still more, by weeping and grieving and calling to mind the hundred good qualities of their good and righteous son. (87)
