This is the Sanskrit Mahavastu: a lengthy work on Buddhist teachings and narratives belonging to the school of early Buddhism (Mahasanghika). This edition only includes those metrical verses occuring in the various stories and Jatakas, as well as the corresponding English translation by J. J. Jones.

Verse 18.15

करोति दीनान नयेन संग्रहं पतन्तम् अभ्युद्धरते महाजनं ।
ततो स्य रत्नामयरत्नसंचया समोनता उन्नमते वसुंधरा ॥ १५ ॥

karoti dīnāna nayena saṃgrahaṃ patantam abhyuddharate mahājanaṃ |
tato sya ratnāmayaratnasaṃcayā samonatā unnamate vasuṃdharā || 15 ||

With his guidance he gives protection to the humble and raises up the fallen multitude. That is why the jewel-bearing earth rises and falls as he walks along. (15)
