The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अतः स्वप्नो जागरा च सुषुप्तं च तुरीयके ।
सयथास्थितमस्तीदं नूनं नास्ति च किंचन ॥ ५९ ॥

ataḥ svapno jāgarā ca suṣuptaṃ ca turīyake |
sayathāsthitamastīdaṃ nūnaṃ nāsti ca kiṃcana || 59 ||

Therefore the three states of waking, dreaming and sound sleep, are all included under this fourth state; wherein the world is seen as it exists, in the light of a nihility.
