The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

राक्षसी राक्षसाधारे वानरी वनकोटरे ।
सिंही गिरीन्द्रशिखरे किन्नरी कुलपर्वते ॥ ९१ ॥

rākṣasī rākṣasādhāre vānarī vanakoṭare |
siṃhī girīndraśikhare kinnarī kulaparvate || 91 ||

The past actions of men make to be born again as Rakshas among savages, and others as monkeys in forests; while some become as Kinnaras on mountains, and many as lions on mountain tops.
