The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

पादपाण्यादिमानन्यो यो वा देवः प्रकल्प्यते ।
संविन्मात्रादृते ब्रह्मन्किंसारः किल कथ्यताम् ॥ १९ ॥

pādapāṇyādimānanyo yo vā devaḥ prakalpyate |
saṃvinmātrādṛte brahmankiṃsāraḥ kila kathyatām || 19 ||

Tell me O Brahman! how they may be called as gods, who having their hands and feet, are yet devoid of their consciousness; which is the pith of the body.
