Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

मृद्वीकौर्वारुकाक्षोटबिम्बजम्बीरजातिषु ॥ ३२ ॥

mṛdvīkaurvārukākṣoṭabimbajambīrajātiṣu || 32 ||
The wise have no taste in delicious fruits, nor do they hunger after dainty food of any kind.
