The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तावत्प्रक्षाल्यते धातुर्यावद्धेमैव शिष्यते ।
तावदालोक्यते सर्वं यावदात्मैव लभ्यते ॥ ४२ ॥

tāvatprakṣālyate dhāturyāvaddhemaiva śiṣyate |
tāvadālokyate sarvaṃ yāvadātmaiva labhyate || 42 ||

The ore is cleared and washed, until pure gold is obtained from it;and so long is spiritual knowledge to be cultivated by men, until spiritual light fills their souls.
