The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
परिदीर्घासु तन्वीषु सुतीक्ष्णासु सितासु च ।
क्षुरधारोपमानासु चित्तवृत्तिषु तिष्ठ मा ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
paridīrghāsu tanvīṣu sutīkṣṇāsu sitāsu ca |
kṣuradhāropamānāsu cittavṛttiṣu tiṣṭha mā || 1 ||

Vasishtha said:—Rely no confidence, O Rama! in the course of the mind, which is sometimes continuous and sometimes momentary, now even and flat and then sharp and acute, and often as treacherous as the edge of a razor.
