The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 5.34.46

अहमिन्द्रेण रूपेण त्रिलोकीमखिलामिमाम् ।
पालयामि क्रमप्राप्तां मठिकामिव तापसः ॥ ४६ ॥

ahamindreṇa rūpeṇa trilokīmakhilāmimām |
pālayāmi kramaprāptāṃ maṭhikāmiva tāpasaḥ || 46 ||

I rule over the world in the form of Indra, and as a monk I command the monastery which has come down to me. I.e. I am an Indra, when I reign over my domain; and a poor monk, when I dwell in my humble cell.
