मेरुश्रृङ्गशिखारत्नकृतवातायनस्थितः ।
एकदा चिन्तयामास स्वयं संसारसंस्थितिम् ॥ २७ ॥

meruśrṛṅgaśikhāratnakṛtavātāyanasthitaḥ |
ekadā cintayāmāsa svayaṃ saṃsārasaṃsthitim || 27 ||

He retired to the farthest polar mount of Meru, and there sitting at the balcony of one of its gemming pinnacles, he reflected on the state of this world and the vanity of mortal life.
