The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

शनैः श्यामिकया ग्रस्ते समस्ते भुवनोदरे ।
रात्रिसंव्यवहारेषु संप्रवृत्तेषु जङ्गले ॥ २५ ॥

śanaiḥ śyāmikayā graste samaste bhuvanodare |
rātrisaṃvyavahāreṣu saṃpravṛtteṣu jaṅgale || 25 ||

As the shade of night overspread the bosom of the universe, the whole forest below betook itself to its nightly rest and silence.
