The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तामग्निसंततिं मत्तामाचचामाम्बुसंततिः ।
भुवनव्यापिनी संध्यामाशु कृष्णेव यामिनी ॥ ६६ ॥

tāmagnisaṃtatiṃ mattāmācacāmāmbusaṃtatiḥ |
bhuvanavyāpinī saṃdhyāmāśu kṛṣṇeva yāminī || 66 ||

These waters soon drank (cooled) the spreading furious fire, as the shades of the dark night swallow (efface) the surrounding red tints of the evening.
