The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 3.12.22

भावयंस्तनुतामेव रसस्कन्ध इवाम्भसः ।
स्वदनं तस्य सङ्घस्य रसतन्मात्रमुच्यते ॥ २२ ॥

bhāvayaṃstanutāmeva rasaskandha ivāmbhasaḥ |
svadanaṃ tasya saṅghasya rasatanmātramucyate || 22 ||

It reflected on the want of fluidity, and produced the liquid body of waters, whose taste constitutes the element (tanmatra) of flavour.
