समनन्तरमेवास्याः स्वसत्तोदेति शून्यता ।
शब्दादिगुणबीजं सा भविष्यदभिधार्थदा ॥ ९ ॥

samanantaramevāsyāḥ svasattodeti śūnyatā |
śabdādiguṇabījaṃ sā bhaviṣyadabhidhārthadā || 9 ||

Afterwards there rises a void space into being, called Kham—vacuum (Arabic Khaviyetun), which is the seed or source of the property of sound, and which became expressive of meaning afterwards.
