The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.13.35

नास्ति चेत्तद्विचारेण दोषः को भवतां भवेत् ।
अस्ति चेत्तत्समुत्तीर्णा भविष्यथ भवार्णवात् ॥ ३५ ॥

nāsti cettadvicāreṇa doṣaḥ ko bhavatāṃ bhavet |
asti cettatsamuttīrṇā bhaviṣyatha bhavārṇavāt || 35 ||

Should there be no such future state, yet there is no harm to believe in it; but if there be such a state, its belief will save you from the (dreadful) ocean of this world.
