223,437 words | ISBN-10: 8171101519

The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 2.3.25

ब्राह्मी द्वासप्ततिस्त्रैता आसीदस्ति भविष्यति ।
स एवान्यश्च लोकाश्च त्वं चाहं चेति वेदयहम् ॥ २५ ॥

brāhmī dvāsaptatistraitā āsīdasti bhaviṣyati |
sa evānyaśca lokāśca tvaṃ cāhaṃ ceti vedayaham || 25 ||

Like this there are seventy two Treta cycles in a Kalpa age of Brahma, some of which have passed by and others to follow. Thus will there be other people like those that have gone by, and as I understand, another Rama and Vasishtha like ourselves.
