The English translation of the Sri Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu verse 2.4.55; a medieval era Sanskrit book, written by Rupa Goswami (fl. 15th century) which represents a devotional (bhakti) masterpiece. In this work Goswami describes the nature and different forms of pure love (rasa) as well as various other topics on Vaishnavism and devotion.

तत्र तडिता, यथा —
बाढं निविडया सद्यस् तडिता ताडितेक्षणः ।
रक्ष कृष्णेति चुक्रोश को’पि गोपी-स्तनन्धयः ॥२.४.५५॥

tatra taḍitā, yathā —
bāḍhaṃ niviḍayā sadyas taḍitā tāḍitekṣaṇaḥ |
rakṣa kṛṣṇeti cukrośa ko’pi gopī-stanandhayaḥ
||2.4.55||

English translation

Terror from lightning:
“When the eyes of the cowherd boys became pained by the flashing of lightning, they began to shout, ‘O Kṛṣṇa, please protect us!’ ”
