The Garga-samhita Verse 2.18.3, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 2 of Chapter 18 (The Sight of Shri Krishnacandra) of Canto 2 (vrindavana-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

श्री-राधोवाच
त्वया विनाहं निशि दुःखितासं
त्वय्य् आगतायां सखि लब्ध-वस्तु-वत्
पूर्वं ह्य् अपथ्यस्य सुखं यथा ततो
दुःखं तथा भामिनि सत्-प्रसङ्गतः

śrī-rādhovāca
tvayā vināhaṃ niśi duḥkhitāsaṃ
tvayy āgatāyāṃ sakhi labdha-vastu-vat
pūrvaṃ hy apathyasya sukhaṃ yathā tato
duḥkhaṃ tathā bhāmini sat-prasaṅgataḥ

śrī-rādhā uvāca—Śrī Rādhā said; tvayā—You; vināwithout; aham—I; niśiat night; duḥkhitāunhappy; āsam—was; tvayy—in You; āgatāyām—come; sakhīO friend; labdhaattained; vastuvaulable; vat—like; pūrvam—before; hy—indeed; apathyasya—of what is not beneficial; sukham—happiness; yathā—as; tataḥ—so; duḥkham—unhappiness; tathā—so; bhāminiO beautiful one; sat-prasaṅgataḥ—from the company.

English translation of verse 2.18.3:

Śrī Rādhā said: I was very unhappy at night without You. O friend, now that You have come I am like one who has found a great treasure. O beautiful one, first You made Me happy and then You made Me sad.
