The Garga-samhita Verse 1.14.8, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 14 (The Liberation of Shakatasura and Trinavarta) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

एकदा कृष्ण-जन्मर्क्षे
यशोदा नन्द-गेहिनी
गोपी-गोपान् समाहूय
मङ्गलं चाकरोद् द्विजैः

ekadā kṛṣṇa-janmarkṣe
yaśodā nanda-gehinī
gopī-gopān samāhūya
maṅgalaṃ cākarod dvijaiḥ

ekadāone day; kṛṣṇa-janma-ṛkṣe—on the day of Kṛṣṇa's birth-star; yaśodāYaṣodā; nanda-gehinī—Nanda's wife; gopīthe gopīs; gopān—and gopas; samāhūya—calling; maṅgalam—auspiciousness; ca—also; akarot—did; dvijaiḥ—by the brāhmaṇas.

English translation of verse 1.14.8:

On the day of Kṛṣṇa's birth-star, Nanda's wife Yaśodā called together the gopas and gopīs and had the brāhmaṇas perform auspicious ceremonies.
