The Garga-samhita Verse 1.7.9, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 1 of Chapter 7 (Description of the Conquest of All Directions) of Canto 1 (goloka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

आ-जानु-भूमि-गं लत्तां
पातालान्तम् उपागतम्
कृत्वा तम् आह बाणस् तु
पूर्वं चैनं समुद्धर

ā-jānu-bhūmi-gaṃ lattāṃ
pātālāntam upāgatam
kṛtvā tam āha bāṇas tu
pūrvaṃ cainaṃ samuddhara

ā-jānuto his knees; bhūmi—to the ground; gaṃ—gone; lattāṃ—kick;

English translation of verse 1.7.9:

pātālāntam—to Patala; upāgatam—gone; kṛtvā—having done; tam—to him; āha—

spoke; bāṇasBāṇa; tu—indeed; pūrvaṃ—before; ca—and; enaṃ—this;

samuddhara—lift.

That kick pushed his leg through the ground up to his knee as his foot reached Pātālaloka. Then Bāṇāsura said, Please pull me up as I was before."
