तद्-ऊर्ध्वं ददृशुर् देवा
विरजायास् तटं शुभम्
तरङ्गितं क्षौम-शुभ्रं
सोपानैर् भास्करं परम्
tad-ūrdhvaṃ dadṛśur devā
virajāyās taṭaṃ śubham
taraṅgitaṃ kṣauma-śubhraṃ
sopānair bhāskaraṃ param
tad-ūrdhvam—above them; dadṛśuḥ—saw; devāḥ—the demigods; virajāyāḥ—of the Virajā river; taṭam—the shore; śubham—glorious; taraṅgitam—with waves; kṣauma—silk; śubhram—white; sopānaiḥ—with steps; bhāskaram—splendid; param—greatly.
English translation of verse 1.2.14:
Higher still the demigods saw the Virajā river's splendid shore, which was splashed by waves white as silk and glorious with many staircases.
