Vidhivibhakti (विधिविभक्ति).—f. a potential termination; a termination which lays down an injunction; विधिविभक्तिं हि विधायिकां लिङं मन्यमानाः श्लोकमिमं समामनन्ति (vidhivibhaktiṃ hi vidhāyikāṃ liṅaṃ manyamānāḥ ślokamimaṃ samāmananti) ŚB. on MS.4.3.3. The श्लोक (śloka) referred to here is; कुर्यात् क्रियेत कर्तव्यं भवेत् स्यादिति पञ्चमम् । एतत् स्यात् सर्ववेदेषु नियतं विधिलक्षणम् (kuryāt kriyeta kartavyaṃ bhavet syāditi pañcamam | etat syāt sarvavedeṣu niyataṃ vidhilakṣaṇam) || This श्लोक (śloka) speaks of the five forms which the विधिविभक्ति (vidhivibhakti) takes in the Vedic literature.
